Key Features

Size: Can grow up to 2–4 feet tall and 1–3 feet wide, developing a full, upright form over time.

Growth: A slow-growing plant that requires little maintenance while providing long-lasting beauty.

Pet Friendliness

The ZZ ‘Black Raven’ is not pet-friendly. It contains calcium oxalates, which can be toxic if ingested by cats, dogs, and other pets. Keep it out of reach of pets and small children.

Care Instructions:

Light: Thrives in low to bright, indirect light. It is highly adaptable and can tolerate low-light conditions, making it ideal for offices and shaded corners.

Watering: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Water sparingly—every 2–3 weeks, depending on the environment. Overwatering is the most common mistake. These plants are very susceptible to overwatering.

Humidity: Prefers average indoor humidity and does not require misting, making it an excellent choice for low-humidity homes.

Temperature: Grows best in temperatures between 18–29°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 10°C.

Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a blend of cactus/succulent soil with added perlite for aeration.

Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 6–8 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). No fertilization is needed in fall and winter.

Repotting: ZZ plants prefer being slightly root-bound and only need repotting every 2–3 years or when the roots outgrow the pot.
