Satin Pothos (Scindapsus Pictus)

The Satin Pothos (Scindapsus pictus) is a stunning vining houseplant known for its silky, heart-shaped leaves speckled with shimmering silver variegation. With its cascading vines and soft, velvety texture, this plant is perfect for hanging baskets, shelves, or climbing up a trellis. Key Features:

Size: Vines can grow up to 6–10 feet long indoors, making it ideal for trailing or climbing displays.

Growth: A moderate to fast grower, especially with proper support like a moss pole or trellis.

Pet Friendliness:

The Satin Pothos is not pet-friendly.  It contains calcium oxalates, which can be toxic if ingested by cats, dogs, and other pets. Keep it out of reach of pets and small children.

Care Instructions:

Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate low light. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which may fade its silver variegation.

Watering: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so ensure proper drainage.

Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts well to average indoor levels. Mist occasionally or place near a humidifier for optimal growth.

Temperature: Grows best in temperatures between 18–29°C. Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 13°C.

Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a blend of peat, perlite, and regular indoor potting soil.

Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding in fall and winter.

Pruning: Trim leggy vines to maintain a fuller shape and encourage bushy growth.
