The Pothos Cebu Blue (Epipremnum pinnatum ‘Cebu Blue’) is a highly sought-after pothos variety known for its narrow, elongated leaves with a shimmering blue-green sheen. Its unique silvery tint and ability to climb or trail make it a versatile and easy-care houseplant perfect for any indoor space, from shelves to trellises.
Key Features:
Size: Vines can grow up to 4–10 feet long indoors, with leaves reaching up to 4 inches long in typical household conditions. With proper support and maturity, leaves may develop fenestrations (splits).
Growth: A moderate to fast grower that thrives with proper light and care, adapting well to either trailing or climbing displays.
Pet Friendliness:
The Pothos Cebu Blue is not pet-friendly. It contains calcium oxalates, which can be toxic to cats, dogs, and other pets if ingested. Place it out of reach of pets and small children.
Care Instructions:
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light, though it can tolerate lower light. Brighter light helps maintain its silvery-blue coloration.
Watering: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil dry out. Avoid overwatering, as it is susceptible to root rot. Ensure the pot has proper drainage.
Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity (50% or higher), but adapts well to average indoor humidity levels.
Temperature: Ideal range is 18–29°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 13°.
Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix, such as an indoor plant mix with added perlite for extra aeration.
Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce feeding in fall and winter.
Pruning: Trim leggy vines to maintain a bushy, fuller look, and propagate cuttings easily to grow new plants.
