The Baltic Blue Pothos is a captivating houseplant known for its deep blue-green leaves that develop natural fenestrations (splits) as they mature. Its unique coloration and striking foliage make it a standout addition to any indoor plant collection. This variety is a clone of Epipremnum pinnatum and is closely related to the Cebu Blue Pothos but features darker leaves that fenestrate earlier in their growth cycle.

Key Features:

In indoor settings, the Baltic Blue Pothos typically reaches a height of 10–12 feet (3–3.6 meters) when supported vertically and can trail or climb depending on how it's trained. Its vigorous growth habit makes it suitable for hanging baskets, shelves, or climbing structures.

Pet Friendliness:

The Pothos 'Baltic Blue' is not pet-friendly.  It contains calcium oxalates, which can be toxic to cats, dogs, and other pets if ingested. Place it out of reach of pets and small children.

Care Instructions:

Light: Thrives in medium to bright indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves. Insufficient light may result in reduced fenestration.

Watering: Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot. Water when the soil is nearly dry to the touch.

Humidity: Prefers average to slightly higher humidity levels (around 60%). If the air is particularly dry, consider using a humidifier or placing the plant on a pebble tray with water.

Temperature: Maintain temperatures between 18°C–29°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 13°C.

Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a combination of indoor potting soil and perlite. Adding orchid bark can enhance aeration.

Fertilizer: Feed monthly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted to half strength. Do not fertilize in fall and winter.

Pruning: Prune to control growth or remove leggy stems. Pinching back the tips encourages bushier growth.

Repotting: Repot once a year or when the plant becomes root-bound. Choose a pot that is one size larger and ensure it has drainage holes.

Pro Tip: To encourage fenestration, provide your Baltic Blue Pothos with ample indirect light and consider training it to climb vertically, as mature leaves are more likely to develop splits.
