Philodendron "Prince of Orange"

The Philodendron ‘Prince of Orange’ is a stunning tropical plant that stands out with its bright, copper-orange new leaves that gradually mature into shades of green and deep copper. Unlike traditional vining philodendrons, this variety grows in a self-heading, upright rosette form, making it a compact, space-friendly choice for any home or office.

Key Features:

Size: Grows up to 2 feet tall and spreads 2–3 feet wide, making it perfect for tabletops, shelves, or plant displays.

Growth: A moderate grower, with new leaves unfurling in vibrant shades of orange and yellow before transitioning to deep green.

Pet Friendliness:

The Philodendron ‘Prince of Orange’ is not pet-friendly.  It contains calcium oxalates, which can be toxic to cats, dogs, and other pets if ingested. Keep it out of reach of pets and small children.

Care Instructions:

Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light. It can tolerate moderate light, but its colors are more vibrant with higher light exposure. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch its delicate leaves.

Watering: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. Avoid overwatering, as the plant is susceptible to root rot. Ensure the pot has proper drainage.

Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity (50% or more). Use a humidifier, pebble tray, or mist occasionally to maintain optimal conditions.

Temperature: Grows best in temperatures between 18–27°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 13°C.

Soil: Use a well-draining, nutrient-rich potting mix, such as a blend of peat, perlite, and orchid bark for aeration.

Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer to support healthy, colorful growth. Reduce feeding in fall and winter.

Pruning: Remove yellowing or damaged leaves to encourage new growth and maintain its vibrant appearance.
