*Mid cut, rooted, new growth*

The Philodendron ‘Jennifer’ is a rare hybrid prized for its elongated, deeply lobed leaves and elegant growth habit. Its foliage displays a lush, glossy green surface with striking variations in tone, inherited from its parent plants Florida beauty and billietiae. The result is a uniquely tropical statement plant that combines the dramatic leaf shape of billietiae with the refinement of Florida beauty. With its climbing nature and striking foliage, ‘Jennifer’ is a standout choice for collectors and interior plant styling.

Size and Growth

Size: Indoors, it can grow 3–6 feet (90–180 cm) tall, with mature leaves reaching up to 12–18 inches (30–45 cm) in length.

Growth: Over time, the plant develops a strong, upright form that showcases its bold leaf structure. As a climbing philodendron, ‘Jennifer’ benefits from support such as a moss pole or trellis.

Pet Friendliness

This plant is toxic to pets. It contains insoluble calcium oxalate crystals, which can cause oral irritation, drooling, and difficulty swallowing if ingested by cats or dogs. It's advisable to keep this plant out of reach of pets.

Care Instructions

Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the leaves. Moderate light is tolerated but may slow growth.

Watering: Allow the top 1–2 inches of soil to dry between waterings. Overwatering may cause root rot. Water less frequently during cooler months.

Humidity: Thrives in moderate to high humidity (60%+). Consider a humidifier or pebble tray if your home is dry.

Temperature: Best kept between 18°C–27°C. Protect from drafts and avoid temperatures below 15°C.

Soil: Use a chunky, well-draining mix rich in organic matter. A blend of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark works well.

Fertilizer: Feed every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer. Pause during fall and winter.

Repotting: Repot every 1–2 years or when root-bound. Provide vertical support to encourage larger, more dramatic foliage.

Pro Tip: For the boldest leaf development, train your Philodendron ‘Jennifer’ on a moss pole—this mimics its natural climbing habit and promotes bigger, healthier leaves.
