Hoya Khroniana ‘Silver’ is a compact trailing houseplant known for its small, rounded leaves with a beautiful silvery splash pattern. Its delicate vines make it ideal for hanging baskets, shelves, or small decorative pots. With the right conditions, it can produce clusters of tiny, fragrant, star-shaped flowers, adding extra charm to this already eye-catching plant.
Key Features
Hoya Khroniana stays fairly compact but will trail beautifully over time. It grows best in a bright spot and prefers to dry slightly between watering. Like many hoyas, it enjoys being a little snug in its pot.
Pet-Friendliness

Non-toxic to pets. Safe for cats and dogs, making it a great choice for pet-friendly homes.
Care Instructions
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to maintain its vibrant variegation. Can tolerate some direct morning sunlight but avoid harsh afternoon sun.
Water: Allow the soil to dry out almost completely between waterings. Hoyas prefer to be on the drier side—overwatering can lead to root rot.
Humidity: Thrives in moderate to high humidity but adapts well to average household conditions.
Temperature: Ideal range is 18–27°C. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.
Soil: Well-draining, light, and airy mix (a combination of orchid bark, perlite, and peat moss works well).
Fertilizer: Feed monthly in spring and summer with a diluted, balanced houseplant fertilizer. Hold off on feeding during the winter.
Flowering: When mature, it produces citrusy smelling star-shaped flowers in clusters. To encourage blooms, provide plenty of light and avoid moving the plant once buds appear.
Pruning: Prune long vines to maintain shape or encourage fuller growth. Do not remove flower spurs after blooming—new flowers often return on the same stem.
Repotting: Hoyas prefer to be slightly root-bound. Repot only every 2–3 years or when absolutely necessary, using a pot with good drainage.
Pro Tip: If your Hoya receives ample light and is slightly root-bound, it’s more likely to produce its signature fragrant blooms. Be patient—Hoyas take time to mature but reward consistent care beautifully.
