Pet Friendliness:

The Bird of Paradise – Orange is not pet-friendly. It contains compounds that can be toxic if ingested by cats, dogs, or other pets. Keep it in a safe location away from curious pets and small children.

Care Instructions:

Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light and can tolerate some direct sunlight. Insufficient light may slow growth and reduce flowering.

Watering: Keep the soil evenly moist but allow the top inch to dry out before watering. Reduce watering in winter when growth slows.

Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity. Consider occasional misting or placing it near a humidifier to mimic its natural tropical environment.

Temperature: Best suited for temperatures between 18–29°C. Protect from cold drafts and temperatures below 10°C.

Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix with peat and perlite to ensure good aeration and moisture retention.

Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 2–4 weeks during spring and summer to encourage lush foliage and blooming. Reduce feeding in the fall and winter.

Repotting: Repot every 2–3 years, as this plant enjoys being slightly root-bound. .
