Begonia 'Snow Capped' Pink Variegated

Begonia ‘Snow Capped’ is a striking cane-type Begonia known for its dramatic foliage and colourful variegation. Its elongated, wing-shaped leaves are typically deep green to bronze, splashed and speckled with creamy white variegation. Pink-variegated specimens add beautiful blush to vivid pink tones, making each new leaf a little different from the last.

With its upright, branching growth and bold foliage, this Begonia makes a fantastic statement plant for collectors. Mature plants may also produce delicate clusters of flowers, but the spectacular patterned leaves are the real showstopper.

Key Features:

Snow Capped Begonia has an upright, cane-like growth habit and can become a relatively tall, bushy houseplant with age. Regular pruning encourages branching and helps maintain a fuller, more compact appearance.

Pink and white variegation can vary significantly between leaves, and highly variegated growth may develop more slowly due to having less green tissue available for photosynthesis.

Pet Friendliness:

Begonias are not pet-friendly.  It can be toxic to cats, dogs, and other pets if ingested. Keep it safely out of reach of pets and small children.

Care Instructions:

Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, while low light may reduce its vibrant colors.

Watering: Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. Begonias are sensitive to overwatering, so ensure the pot has proper drainage to prevent root rot.

Humidity: Thrives in high humidity (50% or higher). Place near a humidifier or on a pebble tray to maintain humidity, especially in dry homes.

Temperature: Prefers temperatures between 16–24°C. Avoid cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a mix with peat, perlite, and compost for richness and aeration.

Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during spring and summer. Skip feeding in fall and winter when growth slows.

Pruning: Remove any damaged or old leaves to encourage fresh growth and keep the plant looking tidy.
