Indoors, the Anthurium ‘Cobra’ typically grows between 18–36 inches (45–90 cm) tall, with wide, arching leaves that can reach up to 12 inches (30 cm) long. Over time, it forms a dense rosette of foliage that gives it a lush, sculptural presence.

This plant is toxic to pets and humans if ingested. Keep out of reach of cats, dogs, and small children.

Care Instructions

Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate moderate light but will grow slower. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.

Watering: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil feel dry. Keep the soil lightly moist but never soggy. Ensure your pot has drainage to prevent root rot.

Humidity: Thrives in moderate to high humidity (60%+). Use a humidifier, pebble tray, or group with other tropical plants to maintain humidity.

Temperature: Maintain temperatures between 18°C–27°C. Protect from drafts and temperatures below 15°C.

Soil: Use a chunky, well-draining mix rich in organic matter. An aroid blend with orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir works well.

Fertilizer: Feed monthly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength. Do not fertilize in winter.

Pruning: Remove yellow or damaged leaves to promote new growth and maintain the plant’s appearance.

Repotting: Repot every 1–2 years or when the plant becomes root-bound. Use a slightly larger pot with excellent drainage.
