Key Features:

Alocasia ‘Venom’ grows upright with thick stems and bold foliage, typically reaching 18–24 inches (45–60 cm) tall indoors. It produces new leaves regularly under ideal conditions, each emerging smaller and smoother before unfurling into its signature dramatic shape.

Pet Friendliness:

The Alocasia Venom is not pet-friendly.  It contains calcium oxalates, which can be toxic to cats, dogs, and other pets if ingested. Place it in a safe spot away from curious pets and children.

Care Instructions:

Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Too much direct sun can scorch the leaves, while low light can slow growth or cause leaf loss.

Watering: Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry. Keep the soil lightly moist during active growth, but never soggy. Reduce watering in winter. These plants prefer distilled water.

Humidity: Loves high humidity (60%+). Mist regularly or place near a humidifier, especially during dry seasons.

Temperature: Best kept between 18°C–27°C. Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 15°C.

Soil: Use a chunky, well-draining mix—potting soil blended with orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir or peat.

Fertilizer: Feed every 4 weeks in spring and summer with a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer. Pause feeding in fall and winter.

Pruning: Remove yellow or damaged leaves at the base. Focus on new growth by keeping the plant clean and disease-free.

Repotting: Repot every 1–2 years or when root-bound. Choose a pot with good drainage and size up just slightly.
